A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A 2SHARE VOLUNTEER
On most Saturday mornings and occasionally during the week our volunteers pick-up and deliver furniture in the Greater Wilmington area. We are always looking for able bodied people willing to devote at least 4-6 hours a month to help others.
A typical Saturday Morning starts between 8:00am and 8:30am depending on the number of deliveries/pick-ups. We are normally finished by noon. The team meets at a local storage are where we:
1. Have our initial team meeting to go over the morning’s pick-up and delivery plan.
2. We will load the trucks with items from the local storage area.
3. We will typically do donation pick-ups first; loading the remaining space in the trucks.
4. We then head to our main storage location to off-load pick-ups and then reload the trucks for the delivery sequence.
5. We make all deliveries.
During the week, we sometimes have single deliveries and donation pick-ups. We also do furniture donation inspections to make sure the donations meet our quality standards.
We schedule this weekday volunteer activity based on the availability of volunteers and donator/client.
